Graphic design is an area that can encompass a wide range of job duties once you have your degree and begin searching for employment. If you work in a small business setting, you could be hired to design advertising flyers, pamphlets of all types, catalogs, and a wide variety of other kinds of advertisements.

On the other hand, if you work for a larger organization, you could be in a role where you would be assigned various projects that would also involve meeting with department managers and clients to uncover the necessary information to gain a complete understanding of all the expectations the project entails.

Additionally you would probably be expected to consult with other people and companies such as printers, publishers, etc. to make decisions on various elements of the final product of the project such as types of paper, covers, and the type of printing best suited for the job. Besides being talented in designing, a successful graphic designer should have good communication skills as well.
