Male and Female Online Students Just as in a traditional classroom, the online classroom will have attendance requirements. It is imperative for your success that you understand how to meet these requirements. Attendance policies vary from one university to another, so be sure you clarify this with your enrollment counselor or your instructor as you begin your classes.

Check To Make Sure You Know the Attendance Policy

Some universities require that you log in a certain number of times per week. Others may take electronic attendance based on when you turn in assignments or log in to a discussion forum, but you can be sure there will be attendance requirements of some type.

Check with Your Instructor About Turning In Assignments Early

Sometimes students like to work ahead and turn in assignments early. You should check with your instructor to make sure this is ok and also find out whether or not it will affect your attendance.

Usually when my students ask this question, I am always glad for them to turn in their work ahead of time, but I always encourage them to log in on the days the assignment is due just to make sure their attendance requirements are met.
