Becoming a Nurse Gives You Many Career Options
Becoming a registered nurse will give you incredible options to practice in the medical field. Of course, nursing is not a field you should even think about going into unless you’ve really got
what it takes for success – things like compassion and a desire to help others, strong communication skills, good math and science skills and, very importantly, a strong stomach.
I always admire nurses whenever I come into contact with them because that is one thing I could never be. I just don’t have the stomach for it. I have to close my eyes when I get a shot, so I would be no good to anyone in an emergency situation. I think I definitely have the compassion, but that wouldn’t carry me very far in the field.
In a recent article I mentioned a number of different health care certifications for those already in the medical field, but if you’re just starting out, you may not realize all of the amazing options you could have as a nurse. You can literally pick from hundreds of areas to focus on and specialize in. You can even be a traveling nurse and travel to different places to practice your nursing skills.
If you’re thinking about becoming a nurse, you should start researching to decide what direction you would really like to go with a nursing career. Talk to practicing nurses to find out what it is really like and perhaps do some volunteering in a medical setting to get a feel for what it takes to do this very important job.
