Every time I begin a new online course, students are asked to post a short bio to introduce themselves to the class. This is always interesting for me. It’s an easy way to find out a little more about the students and it provides an opportunity for us to become more real to each other through sharing a little personal information about ourselves.

I enjoy seeing what has motivated these students to pursue a degree at this point in their lives. What I find most often with my students is that having children is one of the most common reasons they have taken the step toward returning to school.
