How to Effectively Analyze and Complete an Assignment for Work or School

College level assignments quite often consist of multiple parts. It is important to make sure you are addressing each area to avoid losing grade points. In comparing an assignment in class to any type of project or task, I think careful analyzation is imperative to make sure we don’t miss anything.
Step by step, here is what I would do:
1. READ the assignment very carefully.
2. Print it out if you are a visual learner and prefer to read from paper rather than the computer screen. I personally think this is very important.
3. Make a numbered list of each part to be completed.
4. READ the assignment again to make sure you have covered everything on your list.
5. READ any resource materials provided with the assignment.
6. Start at the top of your list, complete each task, and check it off your list.
7. Once you’ve completed your assignment, double check to make sure you have it in the correct format (i.e. Word document) and post it according to instructions.
These same steps can apply to any type of project whether at work or school. The most important thing is to read everything available to make sure you know what is expected of you before you begin. When I’m given a project at work, I use the same methods for making sure I don’t miss anything that could be detrimental to a job well done.
