Medical CareersOccupational therapy is a career with many possibilities. Many occupational therapists work for various types of medical facilities, but some occupational therapists branch out and work on their own as independent contractors.

Becoming an occupational therapist is a good career choice for individuals who want to pursue a medical or health care related field and really want to help others to recuperate from various types of disabling conditions. Occupational therapists work with those who suffer from disabling conditions that can be physical, developmental or emotional.

Occupational Therapists Are Vital in Helping Others Recover

Sometimes a person who has had an accident or devastating illness has to learn many skills all over again and it takes many different types of therapy to help them get back on their feet (literally) and resume a normal lifestyle.

Occupational therapy is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations in the coming years according to the Bureau of  Labor Statistics. If you are interested in earning your degree online, there are possibilities to do just that in the field of occupational therapy.

For physical therapy assistant degrees, it’s helpful to know about “hybrid” programs available from some schools – where you can take the lecture section online, do lab classes at weekends, but still attend the clinical rotations in person. There aren’t any accredited PTA degrees that are offered entirely online.
