Being unemployed does not define who you are. It is a very difficult situation for anyone, not just financially, but emotionally as well. So rather than emphasizing that fact, emphasize who you are and what your profession is when you meet someone new. You never know who you’ve just met and answering this question with a more positive attitude might lead you to possibilities. Networking is an incredibly important part of finding a new job.
