If you have a question about an assignment, you should post it a couple of days before the assignment is due to give your instructor ample time to respond while still leaving yourself enough time to put the instructor’s advice to work for you. If you ask your question one hour before the assignment is due at midnight, you should probably just go ahead and take a stab at your assignment or try to find the answers on your own.

Tone is not just “tone of voice.” Your tone comes through in everything you write just as it does when you speak. The same thought process occurs whether you are speaking or writing; however, the great advantage to writing is that you have time to re-read your message, think about how it sounds and make changes before you send it.
