Last year, the average unemployment rate on an annual basis dropped in 43 US states and the District of Columbia. It went up in two states and remained the same in five states. This is according to statistics published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday, February 28, 2014. There was a decline in employment-population ratios in 28 states across the country.
