October 4th, 2013 by

Global Management Careers For many students, there is a strong desire to travel the world, learn about other cultures and take in some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. Of course, backpacking for the rest of your life isn’t financially feasible for the vast majority.

If you want to combine your love for global culture and travel with a steady career, then working as an international manager might be key. There are four different educational degrees and certificates available, and each is available for online students. Discover more about the associate degree, the bachelor’s degree, the master’s degree and the professional certificate in global management.

Associate Degree in Global Managing

This degree program, like most associate degrees, will take students roughly two years to complete. While it is the shortest degree option available in the field, it does a solid job of preparing students for entry-level careers in management. Some of the subjects that you might expect to find on your syllabus for this 60-credit degree include global economics, international finance, international business strategy and global politics. Admission requirements start with having a high school diploma or the equivalent of a general education degree.

Bachelor’s Degree in Global Managing

In many ways, the bachelor’s degree is similar to the associate degree. Both are undergraduate options, but the bachelor’s is more extensive and is twice as long. It covers much of the same material as the associate degree, but it goes into greater detail. In addition, students are expected to study a foreign language and achieve fluency by graduation. Some of the more popular careers for graduates with a bachelor’s degree in global management include that of global management analyst, an international quality assurance manager or global operations manager.

Master’s Degree in Global Managing

For those who want to pursue one of the careers at the top of the international management industry, the master’s degree is the perfect fit. Before you can enroll in an online program, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree in a related field. You may also need to take the GMAT or the GRE and receive acceptable scores before being admitted to a university degree program at this level. This degree prepares students to take the lead with multinational corporations and manage entire departments or brands. You will also likely focus on either international business law, global supply chains, global marketing or international human resources.

Professional Certificate in Global Managing

This may be the shortest education opportunity in the field, but in order to earn a professional or postgraduate certificate you will first need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and some work experience in management. This certificate can go a long way in getting you promoted, helping you excel in your career or raising your financial earning potential.

Becoming an international manager can be a fascinating and lucrative career option.
