Blackstone Charitable Foundation Launches Entrepreneurship Program In Southern California

A few days ago, the Blackstone Charitable Foundation announced it was expanding Blackstone LaunchPad, its campus entrepreneurship program, to Southern California. The region will be the sixth Blackstone Launchpad region, following Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania and Montana.  The $3.5 million grant by the Blackstone Charitable Foundation will cement a partnership between the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, the University of Southern California, the University of California, Irvine, and the University of California, Los Angeles.[...] Read More...

Employment Trends In The US For 2013

Last year, the average unemployment rate on an annual basis dropped in 43 US states and the District of Columbia. It went up in two states and remained the same in five states. This is according to statistics published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday, February 28, 2014. There was a decline in employment-population ratios in 28 states across the country. The American jobless rate went down by 0.7 percentage points from the previous year to 7.4%, and the national employment population ratio remained unchanged from that of the previous year at 58.6%.[...] Read More...
